She doesn't trust easily and, if you betray her, you'd better run fast and hard. There are only a handful of people she's ever truly cared about and all of them are dead. Therefore, she does her best to keep people at a distance. Parents: -- Father: Andrew "Andy" McGee (deceased) -- Mother: Victoria "Vicky" McGee (deceased) Siblings: n/a Other: n/a Birthplace: Virginia Background: The only child of Andy and Vicky McGee, it was clear from near-birth that Charlie was anything but oridnary. At six months of age she set her crib on fire. At two, she set her neighbor's hair on fire. At four, she was responsible for a large fire in the daycare she was attending. It was shortly after that incident that her parents began attempting to teach her how to control her power. Her power, of course, being pyrokinesis. The ability to start, and control, fires with only her mind. Her parents were hardly 'normal' themselves. After participating in a government-funded experiment in college run by a faction known as 'The Shop', Vicky developed mild telekinesis while Andy ended up with a varied form of telepathy he referred to as 'the push'. These powers, however, had devestating effects on their bodies and, ultimately, resulted in an aneurysm for Andy mere moments before his death via a gunshot wound to the neck. Vicky, however, was murdered by Shop agents after being tortured for the location of her hiding child. On that fateful day, Andy came home to discover his wife dead and his daughter missing. He eventually cornered the men responsible and, after blinding one, grabbed then six-year-old Charlie and fled. They remained on the run for a little over a year, meeting many different people along the way including a retired couple: Irv and Norma Manders. It was at the Manders' farm that they were, once again, confronted by Shop agents. The Shop had plans to bring Charlie in for testing, believing her powers to be but a glimpse of her true capabilities and her body able to fuel the flames, so to speak, as she had been born with them. Her DNA, the doctors thought, was altered at a base level making her the first known mutant in history. Unfortunately for the agents, little Charlie refused to go and, in a display of what she could do, she destroyed all of their cars and wounded several of the men in the process. Andy fled with his child once more, this time making it to an old family lakehouse. They spent Christmas together, enjoying peace for the first time since Vicky's death, and both vowed to stop using their powers and attempt a normal life. This decision would not last. Soon, the Shop brought in a special agent by the name of John Rainbird. Rainbird, a Native-American hitman with pedophilia tendancies and an obsession with death, hunted the father and daughter until he eventually captured them. Seperated from her father, isolated at the Shop Headquarters, little Charlie refused to use her powers and began to spiral into depression. Uncertain what to do, the Shop was set to deem her 'unsafe' and terminate her life when Rainbird once again stepped forward. This time he made a simple deal with those in charge. He would befriend the girl and earn her trust. He would then convince her to do as the Shop asked. Once they had their information, however, the Shop was to give the child to him to dispose of as he saw fit. They agreed and he put his plan into action. It took some patience, as well as a well-timed blackout, but eventually Charlie began to trust 'John the Orderly'. She agreed to do the tests the Shop asked for in exchange for 'John' setting up a secret meeting between her and her father. She used her powers to ignite everything they asked her to ignite, even destroying a concrete wall at one point. The doctors estimated, by the time she reached puberty, she may very well be capable of creating a nuclear explosion simply by the power of her will alone. It was then that the Shop decided to end her life rather than utilize her talents. Late one evening, Charlie was brought to the barn for a secret meeting with her father set up by 'John'. The truth, however, came out and Rainbird revealed his hidden location in the rafters. Andy used the push one last time, forcing Rainbird to jump. Upon his descent, Rainbird fired his gun and fatally wounded the man. Charlie, horrified, killed her once-believed friend and turned to her dying father. Andy told her to take them all out. He explained that the Shop had to be destroyed and she had to let people know the truth of what they had done. They wanted a war, he stated. She was to give them precisely that. It was this dying confession - along with the love and close bond Charlie shared with her father - that enabled her to do precisely that. In a display of power that was frightening to behold, she reduced the one magnificent compound to little more than fine ash. When it was all said and done, the girl returned to the one place she felt she still had friends. The Manders' farm. She recovered from her shock and injuries under their care, only to slip away late one night after overhearing them discuss the danger they were facing by helping her. She then went to the head office of Rolling Stone magazine and told her story to the world. In-Game: For a few years following the fallout that resulted from her story going public, Charlie went from foster home to foster home, a virtual darling in the eyes of the public. She was never mis-treated (she was far too much of a public icon for such a thing to happen) but she also never received the true love she experienced from her parents either. Most people seemed to pity and fear her rather than have any real compassion. At the age of ten, Charlie left the foster care system and struck out on her own. She is now twenty-one and, after a decade on her own, is the definition of self-sufficient. Her powers continue to grow, as well, and Charlie has taken every step possible to ensure she maintains a tight control over them. She has traveled most of the United States, learning various breathing techniques and other excercises meant in keeping a level head at all times. As her powers are tied to her emotions, she believes a clouded, clear mind is the best hope she has of keeping them in check. Charlie arrives in Los Angeles by pure happenstance, or so she believes. A chance encounter with the CEO of Wolfram & Hart, Lindsey McDonald, has her questioning that fact however. Never before has she felt the urge to form any true alliances. Yet there is something about the man that causes her to agree to do so this time. She has no problem using her powers for personal gain but remains hesitant that, despite his assurances, she will eventually become little more than another pawn in yet another war between good and evil. Her only concern this time is which side she'll choose to follow. After all, as she learned at a very tender age, good does not always triumph. Player Name: QueenC Played By: Drew Barrymore Game: Graphics: If there's something here that's yours that isn't credited, please let me know. I promise it wasn't on purpose and I'll fix the problem immediately. Disclaimer: Do I look like a fire-starting twenty-one year old? Or Drew Barrymore, for that matter? I'm also not anyone who owns them, nor am I making any money from this at all. | |||||||||
